Rainbow Haven Cookery Champions

Fantastic day with our Rainbow Haven Cookery Champions at Emerge Fair Share in Manchester. During the 10-week course the co-learners shared cooking skills and learnt about nutrition, making steps to reduce salt and sugar.
And a few words from our Champions:

"I know realise that I have to reduce my salt intake"
"I have never cooked, in my country it is the job of women - it has been nice to learn with other men"
"I have more confidence for learning and I want to volunteer"

Carry-On Loving Rusholme Film Club

Carry-on Loving Rusholme

The love for M14 continues on Sunday afternoon and evening with the Rusholme Film Club on Sunday 15th February. Healthy Me Healthy Communities and the Birch Community Centre bring you a St.Valentine’s film club special starting 3.30-5.30pm with a craft workshop – everyone welcome. Then 6-8pm Rusholme resident Rob Cookson shares his passion for the iconic British-film ‘Carry-on’ film franchise and his private collection of film memorabilia, before the showing of ‘Carry-on Loving’. The workshop and film-showing is free with refreshments available – donations very welcome.

‘Carry-on Loving’ premiered in 1970 with the established stars of Sydney James, Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jacques and Charles Hawtrey with appearance from Anna Karen, Bill Petwee and Patsy Rowlands. The Wedded Bliss computer dating agency aims to bring together the lonely hearts of Much-Snoggin-in-the-Green. The strange collection of hopefuls lead to some outlandish matches, and jealousies are bound to lead to trouble for the usual Carry-On suspects.

Also don’t forget to pop-in and say hello at the weekly Rusholme Social-café and enjoy a healthy lunch, craft-activities and Rusholme What’s the Story? workshops.

Join us at the Birch Community Centre, Brighton Grove, Manchester M14 5JT.
