Rusholme Community Conversation for good health and well-being

On Wednesday 14th January, we are hosting the 1st Rusholme Community Conversation for good health and well-being at Rusholme Children's Centre, Great Western Street, M14 4HA. (please see the attached poster). There will be refreshments including  a healthy brunch.

Health and well-being is affected by many factors with stark differences between different communities affecting quality of life and life expectancy. A lot is written about the causes including a lack of information, confidence, resilience and isolation. Also within Rusholme there is a great deal of assets including services, parks, groups and activities for people to get involved and enjoy health benefits.

The first Rusholme Community Conversation is about finding out about what is important for Rusholme and how people can work together for improving health and well-being for everyone.

Crafts and Film Sunday 30th November

Join us this Sunday 30th November for Christmas crafts and film, pop-in and stay as long as you like.
We have a refreshments, free Wi-Fi and chat alongside our regular sessions.

3.30-5.30 is making fantastic hand-sewn Christmas gifts and decorations

All the activities and materials are free, but of course a small donation for refreshments is welcome.

Rusholme Festival of Ideas 2nd - 10th November

Welcome to the new Festival of Ideas Rusholme. The 2014 festival edition focuses upon mapping ideas from local people for creating the new Rusholme Story.

In this first year of the festival we present a series of events at key locations that connect the new Rusholme Story together, some of these stories take place in the Rusholme neighbourhoods and others make connections to other parts of the City of Manchester. We present a number of firsts for Rusholme including new film screenings, discussions, workshops and an opportunity to connect to the ‘Imagine Rusholme’ work where we explore ideas and thinking about the local area, about this place we call ‘home’.

So come along and explore Rusholme “a name conveying very different ideas to many people” (People’s Institute, 1894)
